Description

Course description

The Trauma Nursing Core Course, or TNCC, combines interactive learning with scenario-based assessments to give nurses a comprehensive learning experience. The 1.5-day intensive course provides new skills through lectures, group activities and hands-on practice.

The ENA is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation as a provider of continuing nursing education.

The course fee covers instruction, handouts, and the national ENA verification fee.

The TNCC provider certification is good for four years.

Objective

To improve trauma patient outcomes by providing nurses with foundational trauma knowledge, skills, and a systematic Trauma Nursing Process to guide trauma patient care.

Prerequisite—no longer optional

  • Required pre-course learning: Eight online modules must be completed prior to the first morning of class.

  • Students must bring the current edition TNCC book to class. If you do not have the book at the beginning of class, you will need to purchase another book or be dismissed with no refund.
  • Students are expected to come to class prepared, having reviewed the TNCC book and materials prior to class attendance.

Agenda

Registration and module completion verification begins at 7:45 a.m. on day one. The course starts promptly at 8 a.m. on both days and will adjourn by 5 p.m. on day one. Lunch is not provided. Day two will adjourn after psychomotor testing is complete. You may choose to take your online exam at the close of day two or up to seven days after class completion. The test is open-book and timed. You will have two hours to complete the exam.
