Coumadin clinic

Specialized care for people on Coumadin

If your doctor prescribes the anticoagulant Coumadin (warfarin), routine checks are needed to monitor the medication’s effect on the clotting tendency of your blood. At the Coumadin clinic, an experienced nurse practitioner carefully tailors your medication dosage while offering counseling and education about your medical condition.

Results from each visit are sent to your referring physician on the same day. In addition, we provide ongoing education about conditions and treatments that may affect your therapy. We also help manage your therapy during surgery or dental work.

Outpatient anticoagulation programs like Asante’s Coumadin clinics have been shown to provide more precise control of blood thinning. When enrolled, patients can expect improved outcomes with fewer problems from either inadequate or excessive anticoagulation.
