Precision radiation therapy
The Varian TrueBeam
The new Varian TrueBeam radiotherapy system treats tumors so precisely that what once took 25 treatments could take as little as five or fewer — and it's just arrived in the Rogue Valley. It combats cancer wherever it appears in the body, even on the skin. Its precision saves surrounding, healthy tissue from damage, says Gregg Gallant, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center supervisor of radiation physicists.
The Radixact
Our new Radixact radiotherapy system shapes radiation to the tumor while sparing normal, healthy tissue using image-guided, intensity-modulated radiation therapy. It features built-in, real-time synchronization that moves with the body to ensure precise, 360-degree delivery.
The Heimann Cancer Center exists because of philanthropy
The Heimann Cancer center is named after Mary and Dick Heimann, community leaders and philanthropists, who made a life-changing $5 million gift to Asante Foundation to leave a legacy for the community they love. The historic gift is a testament to the community’s devotion to helping each other—particularly the 2,000 people diagnosed with cancer in Southern Oregon every year.
Charitable gifts continue to impact cancer care in important ways: launching innovative programs, expanding research and community partnerships, enhancing support services and more. To learn how your gift can make a difference, please call Asante Foundation (541) 789-5025.
