Patient experience
Your experience is important to us
Patient experience is an integral element of health care quality, which is why our goal is to deliver excellent care for each and every patient. When patients are satisfied with their care, they are more likely to achieve better outcomes.
We want our patients to feel like they are cared for as individuals. We want them to know they are a valued part of their health care team and that we welcome their input.
How we measure patient experience
Survey by Professional Research Consultants (PRC)
Asante partners with PRC to collect feedback from patients about their experience. We use that information to learn where we are succeeding and where we need to improve.
Following your appointment or hospital stay, you may receive a questionnaire in the mail or by email asking how we did and what we can improve. Please take a few minutes to provide honest feedback. Your comments will be kept confidential. We rely on your input to continue delivering the care you need with the compassion and respect you deserve.
HCAHPS
The survey by Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) consists of 27 questions sent to a random sample of recently discharged patients. The questions are related to important aspects of the patients’ hospital experiences. The HCAHPS initiative is the first national, standardized survey of hospital patients’ perspectives of their care. It was created to provide publicly accessible data about hospital care that will:
- Provide information for objective and meaningful comparisons of hospitals
- Motivate hospitals to improve quality of care
- Enhance accountability through transparency
The HCAHPS results posted on Hospital Compare allow consumers to make comparisons between hospitals and to compare individual hospitals to state and national averages and benchmarks.
