About this provider

Training to become a doctor of osteopathy and general surgeon, Dr. Aaron Martin sought out skilled and knowledgeable surgeons as mentors.  “I wanted to be able to offer a wide variety of surgeries from biopsies to hernias to cancer care. It is important to me to be able to help my patients whatever their health issues.” 

Dr. Martin sees each patient as unique and important. “I try to listen to what my patient is telling me and get to as much history behind the presenting illness. Then we work through it logically and find out the root of the problem. If I can treat it medically I will. If it requires surgery, I am ready there as well.”

While his original college major was in music, science and medicine became Dr. Martin’s top priority fairly quickly. Volunteering at summer camps for youth with diabetes peaked his interest in the impact of chronic disease.

Patients with reflux concerns have become a focus for Dr. Martin, who has special training in anti-reflux treatments as well as endoscopy and bronchoscopy. Thyroid biopsies and surgeries remain a special interest.

Dr. Martin and his wife, a CCU nurse at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, have a new baby to add to their busy lives. Regular exercise, team sports, hiking, camping, and fishing fill out Dr. Martin’s free time.

During my 10 day stay at the hospital, Dr. Martin went above and beyond by listening to my concerns about my shoulder rehab which was a completely different problem, but important to me. He allowed me the mobility I needed to avoid leaving Asante for my current issue and subsequently getting shoulder surgery because my rehab went backwards. He kept me in positive spirits which I feel is huge towards my healing. Dr. [ ] has been 100% excellent as a care provider. I am forever grateful for the care that Dr. Martin and Dr. [ ] have given me. I had an RN named Tony who took care of me for several days. He deserves recognition for his commitment to excellence. Everybody was very good. I did have a CNA named Melina, who stood out to me. She also deserves some recognition for excellent service to those in their time of need. I believe that there is no higher calling than that, and Melina has answered her calling. I know there are more, but I was overwhelmed. My thanks to all.

Dr. Martin made himself available for me for immediate care and got me an in person visit within 24 hours of being made aware of my post surgical complications. Dr. Martin SAVED my life while providers at OTHER hospitals down played the seriousness of my condition and had sent me home to die. Dr. Martin and the other providers at his clinic all provided OUTSTANDING emergency medical care and unforgettable first rate compassionate post operative care. I owe my life and recovery to Dr. Martin, He treated me with respect, urgency, knowledge, compassion and excellence. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Martin!!

I was referred to Dr. Martin's office because of some negative results via blood test that I had to get because of sever pain. The office called me for an appointment during a Friday to set up for Tuesday, I was in pain and a little scared so I asked the receptionist if there was anything they could do for me sooner. Dr. Martin was consulted and squeezed me in first thing Monday morning for a consult and surgery to remove my gallbladder first thing Tuesday morning. He recognized how bad my blood tests were and the pain I was in and prioritized my care. Dr. Martin was kind, respectful, understanding and competent. If I would highly recommend him and his staff/office to anyone. His office also scheduled a two follow up appointments to ensure that I was doing well after the surgery and made me feel cared for. They addressed all my pre and post-op questions, helped manage my pain and did a wonderful job throughout my medical emergency. Thank you so much!

Dr Martin is always amazing! I am comfortable with him and trust him to provide the best medical services possible. My most recent visit, the staff was wonderful. The guy that took me back was friendly and easy to be around. Stephanie checked me in, she was very friendly and made it so much more comfortable to chat with her. Crystal was fantastic with the IV, I have a huge fear of needles and I didn't even feel it. Crystal was also very kind. It was just wonderful staff, I am very grateful to have had them.

Dr. Martin took the time needed to hear my questions (and answer them - in an easily understood manner) and my concerns. He spent a considerable amount of time answering questions about a different issue from a year earlier, after thoroughly covering the current issue. He was personable and not condescending. I felt as though he cared about me, and valued me.

I have to commend Dr. Martin on his knowledge of my situation and what I mean by that is that he had said before we got started talking about my situation that he had looked over my record the night before so he was a little familiar with my problem. His diagrams were so helpful so I could understand what my surgery would entail, I'm grateful for the time he spent with me with no hurry to get me out of there! U have a valued dr on staff for sure!

Everything went as well as possible dealing with the Coronavirus...I personally have been waiting several months to see Dr. Martin and have the needed surgery taken care of. Although it was a long and painful wait, it was out of Dr. Martin's hands as far as moving forward when I needed help. I'm very satisfied and confident Dr. Martin can get me taken care of and I have the utmost confidence he knows what he's doing just from one visit with him.
