Current residents

Portrait of Alex Akerlund

Alex Akerlund

  • Home town: Sacramento, CA
  • I attended California Northstate University for my PharmD.
  • I like Asante for core and elective rotations available, location and only resident at Three Rivers but also have the option of doing a few elective rotations in fields that interest me at Rogue .
  • I’m most excited about Informatics. Mike Kasik seems like he’s fun to be around, and I consider myself a nerd for computers and statistics so I’m looking forward to see the back-end of Epic.
  • I finally got my passport after not having one for >10 years, and I’m planning to go on a trip outside the country with some friends at some point in the next year – haven’t decided where we’re going yet, so if you see me and have recommendations let me know!
  • I’ve got 2 cats back home in Sacramento – and one of them just got found after going missing for at least 9 years!
  • I could nerd out about these topics for hours: electric bikes, video games, fast food, computer hardware.

  • Home town: Chandler, AZ, but have been in Portland for many years.
  • I attended Pacific University for pharmacy school.
  • What attracted me to Asante was its diverse opportunities and wonderful sense of comradery. I knew I would be fully supported here to further explore my career interests.
  • I am attempting to nurture some new plants.
  • I am most interested in my critical care and oncology rotations since these are areas of interest of mine that I may pursue a PGY2 in.
  • I am most excited to explore more areas of Southern Oregon.
  • I have a Dutch bunny named Loretta.

  • Home town: a suburb 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, PA.
  • Attended the University of Pittsburgh for pharmacy school
  • I applied to ARRMC because of the wide variety of rotation options, pharmacist-led initiatives, and sense of community. I could tell from my interview that the residents enjoyed working here.
  • I am looking forward to many of my rotations but am most excited for areas that are new to me, such as oncology/infusion center, peds/NICU, and informatics.
  • I am so excited to hang out with my co-residents and explore southern OR! I have a personal project to try a new coffee shop every week and find the best one. Spending more time outside is also a goal of mine because it is always sunny here!
  • I used to work at a bookstore and love to read. One of my recent favorites is The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett.
  • In college, I had a pet snail named Bruce (after the shark in Finding Nemo).

Henry Marcille

  • Home town: Pensacola, Florida.
  • Graduated from pharmacy school at the University of Florida.
  • One of the biggest reasons I wanted to come to Asante was the diverse array of pharmacy services offered.
  • I am particularly interested in learning more about oncology and NICU pharmacy.
  • I’m super excited to also take in all that Southern Oregon offers and try rafting the rogue and visiting some wineries!

Portrait of Dani Wojcik

Dani Wojcik

  • Home town: Dryden, NY.
  • Went to the University at Buffalo for pharmacy school.
  • I really like the size of the Rogue, all the areas for patient care, as well as the incredibly friendly environment.
  • I am looking forward to ICU/CCU, since that is one of my biggest interests in patient care. I am also looking forward to cardiology since I have greatly enjoyed the subject matter from the beginning of pharmacy school.
  • The vastly different geography in the area makes me want to spend all the free time I have exploring around and hiking. I’m looking forward to all of the future adventures to come with my co-residents!
  • My favorite animal is a moose, and one of the side quests in my life journey is to eventually see one on a hike. My past two travels to Maine have been unsuccessful with accomplishing this.
