Oregon Wine Experience® cancels 2021 in-person events

Online auctions continue to build a new children’s hospital

Oregon Wine Experience® (OWE), one of the top destination charity wine and culinary events, has moved its auction entirely online for the 2021 event. The three in-person events have been cancelled due to the continued surge in COVID-19 hospitalizations. Founders’ Barrel Auction, Miracle Auction & Salmon Bake and Grand Tasting events will not be held as in-person gatherings. People can still participate virtually and bid online on exclusive wines and auction packages as part of the Founders’ Barrel Auction, Miracle Auction and Silent Auctions.

“We did everything we could to make these events happen, but with the high number of hospitalizations, we believe it best for our health care workers not to have a large in-person gathering this year for OWE. Our top priority is the health and safety of our community,” said Floyd Harmon, executive director, Asante Foundation. “We will still be hosting our auctions online to continue our goals to benefit AsanteForward and the new children’s hospital.”

Anyone can register to participate in this year’s auctions at theoregonwineexperience.com.

All bidding for the auctions will take place online. Miracle Auction and Silent Auction bidding begins on Monday, Sept. 27 at noon and concludes on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. The Founders’ Barrel Auction bidding begins on Friday, Oct. 1 at noon and closes on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.

The Oregon Wine Experience is a vital component of AsanteForward supporting the construction of a new children’s hospital at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, Oregon. This modern, family-centered care environment will improve medical outcomes and personal experiences. Donors and sponsors of the Oregon Wine Experience will make a once-in-a-generation impact on the lives of babies, children, and families from across the region. “We’re grateful for the continued generosity and understanding of our sponsors and donors,” said Andrea Reeder, Asante Foundation director of Campaign and Operations. “As part of Asante, we encourage the community to get vaccinated, as we know this is the safest way to be protected from COVID-19 and the delta variant that has had a harsh effect in Southern Oregon and around the world.”
