Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center Named a 100 Top Hospital in the Nation for 2020

The only hospital in Oregon and Washington to achieve this prestigious designation

For the seventh time, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center has been named a 100 Top Hospital in the nation by IBM Watson Health out of 3,134 short-term, acute care, non-federal hospitals. The 100 Top award recognizes excellence in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience and financial health.

IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals had better results on key clinical and operational performance indicators, including better patient survival rates, fewer patient complications and health-care-associated infections, lower 30-day mortality and readmission rates, shorter lengths of stay, lower inpatient expenses and higher patient experience ratings.

According to this year’s study results, if all Medicare inpatients received the same level of care as is offered at 100 Top Hospitals:

• 106,000 additional lives could be saved in-hospital

• 49,000 additional patients could be free of medical complications

• The typical patient could be released from the hospital half a day sooner

• More than $8.3 billion in inpatient costs could be saved

In fiscal year 2019 at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, there were:

• 15,899 inpatients discharged

• 50,362 Emergency Department visits

• 1,540 babies delivered

• 703 open-heart procedures performed

• 331 neonatal intensive care unit discharges

• 10,465 surgeries performed

• 643 trauma cases
