Asante named a 15 Top Health System in the nation eight years in a row

The only health system in Oregon and Washington to achieve this award

For the eighth year in a row, Asante has been named one of IBM Watson Health’s 15 Top Health Systems in the nation. This is a remarkable achievement, with no other health system in Oregon or Washington receiving this level of recognition.

This year’s study evaluated 332 health systems and 2,492 hospitals across the nation to identify the top 15 health systems with the highest overall achievement in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency and patient experience.

Compared with Asante’s peer health systems, the hospitals included on the IBM Watson Health 15 Top Health Systems list had:

• Lower inpatient mortality rates and fewer patient complications

• Fewer hospital-acquired infections

• Higher influenza immunization rates

• Lower 30-day readmission rates

• Shorter lengths of stay

• Faster emergency care

• Higher patient rating scores

• Lower episode-of-care expenses
