Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center Named Top in the Nation and Oregon for Heart Treatment
The hospital received top honors for medical excellence and patient safety
CareChex® -- an information service of Quantros, Inc., has named Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center the No. 1 hospital in the country for medical excellence in interventional coronary care. For heart attack treatment, Asante Rogue Regional ranked No. 1 in Oregon for medical excellence and patient safety. Asante Rogue Regional received its high national rankings out of more than 3,000 hospitals in the country, and statewide out of 62 hospitals.
“Achieving No. 1 status for interventional coronary care and heart attack treatment takes a team of dedicated professionals,” said Scott Kelly, Asante’s chief operating officer. “Every member of Asante’s heart and vascular teams is relentlessly focused on quality — from the first responders in the field, to our emergency department and cath lab providers, cardiologists, vascular surgeons, nurses in the Coronary Care Unit and in the Heart Center, and respiratory and cardiac rehab therapists. I am extremely proud of the clinical teams who provide such exceptional care to our patients every day.”
Ratings data for interventional coronary care include minimally-invasive and non-surgical treatments such as catheter-based procedures to open blocked coronary arteries; place stents to restore blood flow to the heart; and repair or replace heart valves. Data for heart attack treatment refers to medical care for acute myocardial infarctions which occur when blood flow decreases or stops to a part of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle.
“With so many outstanding heart programs across the country, it’s truly an honor to have our Medford cardiac care recognized as the best in the nation,” said Mick Zdeblick, CEO at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. “But more important are the positive outcomes for our patients. The CareChex rankings reflect and attest to Asante’s commitment to providing the highest quality patient care.”
