Hearthstone joins the Pinnacle Healthcare Inc. family

Springfield-based company will continue the Hearthstone legacy of excellence

Hearthstone, an Asante Health System nursing care service, is now a member of the Pinnacle Healthcare Inc. family of long-term care facilities. Effective Jan. 1, 2010, Hearthstone, which was owned and operated by Asante Health System, officially joined Pinnacle.

"We plan to continue to carry on Hearthstone's legacy of excellent and compassionate care to all of its residents," said Pinnacle President Julie Carlson. "Our mission of enhancing and enriching every life we touch will be right at home at Hearthstone."

Pinnacle plans to carry on Hearthstone's emphasis on helping patients reach their maximum potential. Familiar faces will remain at the facility, as many staff members including Administrator Stephen Johnson will continue to serve in their current positions. Helping residents reach their maximum level of independence, creating a living and healing environment rich in all aspects of life and other initiatives that put a priority on restorative care will all continue at Hearthstone.

"We believe Pinnacle will be very good for Hearthstone," said Scott Kelly, chief strategy officer, Asante Health System. "Our goal was to find a new owner of Hearthstone with a strong, successful history in providing nursing-home care. We also wanted to ensure that the positive traditions of Hearthstone were maintained without disruption to staff or residents. With Pinnacle, we reach all of those goals."
